The resort of Agios Gordis is on the  west coast of Corfu.

As you climb the hills crossing from east to west, the olive groves are all around you.
Descending into Agios Gordios is a joy whether by day or night. At night the lights of the village are spread out below you.

By day the panoramic view is breathtaking, looking across the bay to the landmark of ‘Orthlithi’ the rock guarding the cliffs. Agios Gordios is a relatively small resort with a long sandy beach, and is a real find. There is plenty to do with an assortment of Tavernas and Restaurants scattered along the narrow high street, and along the beach.

Hotels and rooms to let, are available for accommodation in the settlement and in the area around. You will find good food in the taverns at the sea front and snacks, light meals and refreshments in the fast foods.

You will swim at the long well organized beach, sandy in its major part, and pebbly at spots. Impressive groups of rocks seem to divide the beach in smaller parts; one of these groups of rock, named Ortholithi, is found within the sea, a very interesting theme for photographs.

It is worth visiting the nice scenic village of Kato Garouna, with traditional buildings, excellent samples of the local architecture, at a distance of 2,5 kilometers southern to Aghios Gordios. At the village you will see the excellent stone-made bell tower of the church of Aghios Nicolaos and the statue of the Stone carver, in local costume and holding his tools.

Once at Kato Garouna, don’t miss to drive another 2 kilometers at the West, up to the small church of Aghios Panteleimonas, built on the top of the homonymous hill. From there you will see Aghios Gordios from above, an excellent theme for photographs. If you are a fan of more extreme sports, take your parapente, you may return to Aghios Gordios, ...flying.

You may also drive up to the village of Ano Garouna, at a distance of some 7,5 kilometers eastern to Aghios Gordios, and have your afternoon coffee there. The village is built at a height of 350 meters on the mountain of Aghioi Deka and it has an interesting church dedicated to Holy Virgin, dated to the 16th century. If you are around by the end of July, don’t miss t attend the local feast (“panighyri”) in honor of Aghios Panteleimonas, on the 27th of July.
