If you are looking for a stunning sandy beach - probably the finest the island has to offer - then Glyfada should be on your list. There are several bars and tavernas around the beach as well as the usual hotels and a few apartments.

Glyfada beach is one from more beautiful Corfu. It is found at the west side of the village and in distance 16 km from the capital. It is extended around the foothill of Peleka.
Glyfada is a very popular tourist resort. The beach that has been awarded with the Blue Flag, is well organized and attracts people who like swimming and sea sports. Every summer there take part a beach volley tournament. You can do water-ski, jet-ski or rent a sea bicycle and have fun with your friends.
The small settlement of Glyfadas has been a modern coastal centre with luxurious hotels, restaurants ans bars.

Near to Glyfada beach, are found the golf course of Corfu and the Equestrian Club. In the same region is also found the Aqualand, the marine park that offers hours of amusement to every visitor.
Glyfada is a small village 12 miles west of Corfu Town and airport, with a privileged setting on a huge bay on the stunning west coast of Corfu amidst hills, cliffs and pine trees.

It is a trendy popular resort but small enough to have a traditional feel with atmospheric tavernas and bars. Glyfada is lively enough but nothing too raucous. Your holidays here could also include trips to Corfu Town, the traditional village of Pelekas, golf at Ermines or an excursion to attractive quiet Miriotissa bay with its monastery. But with a beach like Glyfada you may want to do nothing more than enjoy the sand, sea, cliff top views and spectacularly colourful sunrising.

Glyfada offers excellent facilities for water sport fans, golfers and walkers alike. Water sports in Glyfada include waterskiing, sailing, windsurfing, jet skis and canoeing. Volleyball is popular on the beach and golfers will enjoy a nearby golf course. If you can drag yourself away from the stunning Glyfada beach there are ample walking opportunities in the beautiful scenery surrounding. You will find cliffs, inland hills and coastal strolls.
